Hon. Garba Umar Dutsin Mari is a seasoned public administrator and financial expert, currently serving as the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Kebbi State. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades in public service, he brings a wealth of experience in governance, financial management, and local administration to his role as a Non-Executive Director of Kebbi State Home Savings and Loans Limited.

Hon. Garba began his career in the local government system, serving in various capacities across multiple councils in Kebbi State. His exceptional leadership and financial acumen saw him rise to the position of Director of Finance and Supply, as well as a key member of the Local Government Service Commission. His expertise in fiscal management and resource allocation contributed significantly to the efficiency of local governance structures.

Between 2010 and 2015, he transferred his services to the Federal Government, where he served as Chief Accountant at the Border Communities Development Agency, overseeing financial operations and ensuring accountability in developmental projects. He rose to the position of Assistant Director before returning to the state civil service. Upon returning to the Kebbi State Civil Service, he held strategic roles as Permanent Secretary, Government House, and later, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s fiscal policies. Hon. Dutsin Mari is also Fellow Certified National Accountant (FCNA).

In recognition of his outstanding contributions, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, appointed him as Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, a position where he continues to drive reforms, strengthen grassroots governance, and promote traditional institutions.
