Abbas Jega Mohammed, B.Sc, MBA, ACA, MNIM, MIoDIndependent Non-Executive Director Kebbi State Home Savings and Loans Limited. Abbas Jega Mohammed is a seasoned financial expert and accomplished executive with over three decades of high-level experience spanning banking, insurance, mortgage finance, consulting, asset management, and energy distribution. He currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Kebbi State Home Savings and Loans Limited, bringing a wealth of strategic insight, regulatory compliance knowledge, and corporate governance expertise to the institution.

A Chartered Accountant, Mr. Jega began his executive career as the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of Abuja Building Society Limited (1991–1997), where he led the institution through significant growth in the Nigerian mortgage finance sector. He later served as Managing Director/CEO of Sigma Consultants Limited, Abuja (1997–1998), a financial and management consulting firm. His foray into the insurance industry saw him appointed as Managing Director/CEO of Northlink Insurance Brokers, Abuja (2001–2002), where he provided risk advisory services to corporate clients and public institutions. Mr. Jega then transitioned to commercial banking, holding senior executive roles including Deputy General Manager at First Interstate Bank Plc (2002–2005), and Deputy General Manager at Unity Bank Plc in 2006.

In 2008, he was appointed Executive Director at Afribank Nigeria Plc, where he played a pivotal role in corporate banking and institutional restructuring until 2009. Following this, he was appointed as Executive Director at the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) from 2010 to 2015. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the strategic resolution of non-performing loans and the stabilization of Nigeria’s financial system in the aftermath of the banking crisis.

In 2022, Mr. Jega was appointed Chairman, Board of Directors of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, a role he held until 2023, overseeing reforms in corporate governance and operational efficiency in the energy distribution sector.

Mr. Jega holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He is a Chartered Accountant and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is also a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and a Member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria, reflecting his commitment to continuous professional development and ethical boardroom leadership.
